What is this stock ??
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luger-Pistol...UAAOSwqfNXnKH2
The seller says this is a fantasy item, but I already saw the same wood stock in the Museum of Technics in Berlin a few years ago. I don't think German specialists would display a fake in their museum... Can anybody tell more about this kind of stock please ? Thank you. PS: the leather part is not a fake (Maury & Co). christian |

It's for a Japanese toy / replica pistol.
And, yes, current day European museums are dumb enough to put toys in their display cases. I remember seeing a Portuguese Byf 42 with holster on display in a museum in Luxembourg, being presented as a WW1 Imperial luger... And worse... With a bit of fiddling, these toy versions will actually fit a real luger. But the metal is too soft to be of any real use in the long term. They also exist as 'telescopic stocks' and 'artillery stocks'. Last edited by Vlim; 08-02-2016 at 09:26 AM. |

Gerben...thank you for the information. I will be much more suspicious now when I visit our museums, even in Germany. Anyway, the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin is really fantastic !
