Bob Simpson has a very nice cased Borchie on the front of his latest catalogue...asking $25K for it IIRC.

I also got an email about this. I wonder how much paperwork is involved with getting something like that from Germany to the US?

Even though this is a Loewe, this is a pretty high estimated price for just the gun. No holster, check piece or stock. It does come with a matching magazine. Most that I have seen don't have that. Finding an importer can be difficult.Simpson will do it. I think he charges $200.

Per ATF, as this is an antique, there is minimal paperwork.

Hi folks,
If I´m not mistaken, there are TWO of these rare birds for sale at www.simpsonltd.com <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> They are around 17,500 - 19,000 <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> !! Nice to see them, anyway... Douglas. <img border="0" alt="[king]" title="" src="graemlins/r.gif" /> |

Doug,
I was just at Simpsons site and he currently has only one DWM Borchardt now for sale for $19500. The are two models of the Borchardt. Model one is the Loewe. Model two is the DWM Borchardt. DWM made minor changes to differenciate it from the Loewe Borchardt. The stock and cheek piece were numbered to the Loewe guns while most of the DWM guns were not numbered at all. So the cheek pieces and stocks are subject to counterfeiting. The cheek pieces have a little spring loaded button on it to hold it onto the stock. These buttons are delicate and subject to breakage. So when they broke, they were simply thrown away over time. Since the Loewe was the original and rarer, they are more expensive. Especially if the stock, cheek piece and magazines serial number match the gun. Then we get into the case and other accessories... Big Norm |

Hi Norm,
Thanks for tell me that! I never had read anything about it or noticed any diference between the two makers (Ludwig Loewe and DWM) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> However, I can swear that they had two! Anyway, that´s why I love this forum! You are always learning something new! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> Best wishes, Douglas. |

Doug,
I bought my first and only DWM Borchardt last year. Its surprising how much you study and learn before you put down big bucks for an expensive gun. I still haven't got the guts to disassemble and clean the thing. Big Norm |
