Get A Grip!!
Were all wooden grips numbered as a pair by each maker? If one is blank can you assume is a substitute. What are other marking like a small star an inspection mark? Were any besides the bakelites left unmarked? Eric~

Well lets see:
No, but if numbered there where likely originally 2, Yes, probably a replacement, either period or new. Some have random letters, or later eagle/655 type markings , or an S(Mauser code), star over a letter, Imperial inspector like on ERfurt lugers, and I'm sure more. Yes, some are completely un marked. |
