Hi Pete,
DRP=Deutsches Reich Patent..a trademark protection issued under the late Kaiser. FWIW, I acquired a lot of legal papers some time ago including among other things a US patent office copy and sealed issue of the 1902 Georg Luger patent submission and, interestingly enoua lawyer's transcription of a court proceeding against Winchester for using a Browning design, which allegedly infringed on a Luger patent. Fascinating reading but not the things I like so I sold it, along with several Georg Luger original items. Gotta keep feeding the Navy addiction! Tom A. |

Hello Tom,
Thanks for setting me straight on the DRP-thing. I did also find the same info. in "The Luger Book" by Walter, but it is not in reference to the Borchardt pistol...specifically. Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |

There are other markings sometimes seen:
DPa = Deutsche Patentanmeldung (German patent application pending) DRGM = Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchmuster (German State Patent or proctected invention) DRBP = Deutsche Reich und Bundespatente (German Reich patent and federal patent - Old patent renewed under the federal government) The DRGM is a protection for an invention or an improvement that did not rate as novel enough for a full patent. BTW, beautiful Borchardt. Anyone know what it brought? Jim |

Hermann-Historica usually makes post auction information available on their website...
The price paid should be there in EURO's... BTW, They are a wonderful source of good photographs of firearms and other militaria...
