Talking Finally Installed My Grip!

Bought the new grip some time ago; made a few halfhearted attempts to install it, after removing (and saving) the old grip...

Watching the Australian Open tennis matches finally motivated me enough to get the old bat out and, with determination, I got the new grip on by sheer brute force! (I don't have a cone).

Now if only it wasn't the middle of Winter...

My grade school principal had one of those things, but it had holes drilled in it.

My old junior-high vice-principle had a paddle, too - I only caught it once. That VP went on to become a mayor of Niagara Falls NY.

No, this is a different 'paddle' (as Michael has observed)...I have another, of which I am proud - a Warsop-Hendren.

(A good bat runs somewhere between $200 to $700...)

Rich, now I can't wait for the Ashes! I was having a curry at a local restaurant once and the owner, a Pakistani fellow, commented 'You're not a Yank, you're watching cricket!' He had a match on at the time and we both reminisced about living in London.

Makes me want to find a local group!

Yes, it's interesting that Rugby has 'caught on' with the yuppies here but Cricket is virtually unknown...In fact, growing up in mostly-Italian Niagara Falls in the 50's/60's, the local city park had more Bocce courts than any other sport...

The Hunts County 'Vision' has never been knocked in ...I'm pretty sure the Warsop has...I've seen pics of some American baseball players 'boning' their bats; I wonder why it's not more popular...

Here's a closeup of the Hendren Autograph model bat...Given to me many years ago by a relative across the river in Guelph Ontario...
