Question Swiss Bern 1906 HELP!

Hello all , I am new to forum and have some questions about my Swiss Bern 30 luger 1906. I would like to know if any one could possibly let me know the mfg. date of this. i was told you could tell somehow by the serial # So here it is #26276 I was thinking somewhere around 1926 but i am probably terriably wrong. All major parts are swiss cross marked and the barrel has a cross over M stamp All #s match including the grips and wood base magazine. Ill try to upload some photos see if that helps . Ed Tinker if you happen to read this its Roger from Toms River

Well, first of all welcome to this forum of Luger enthusiasts.

The gun looks like a 1906 W+F (improperly called 1906/24) and to my records should be one of the 1250 made in 1927
The marks are the cross as a proofmark for firing and testing, then is visible Col. Muhlemann control punch.

But I'll let other people more expert than me to confirm you the above.

it seems that the later Models 1900/06 (W+F) were delivered with a numbered magazine (the second magazine was propably not numbered). But I thought these were pistols with higher serialnumbers. Anyway Models 1900/06 with matching numbers on the magazine ( two digits - right?) are very rare. I think most of them were lost or exchanged with others.

Congratulation - very nice pistol!

Alexander
