Early luger
I just bought a 30 caliber American Eagle SN 19*02. (I blanked out the third digit) I would like to know what year the gun is and am finding out that is not easy. Can anyboby help? Thanks.

Welcome
I moved this to its own thread Figuring out the year is a bit problematic, although you can get close. Did you read Dwight's write up to looked at his commercial Lugers PDF!

Production of American Eagles began at serial number 2002 (there are reports of a couple AE Lugers with 3-digit serial numbers, but haven't seen any verification). I think your number 19*02 was produced probably in the latter half of 1901.
