Default Any color case hardened Lugers?

I've just joined here, and really looking forward to participating.

I've seen a number of custom finishes on shooters and bring-backs, but never color case hardening.

It's an art to get right, I agree.
But it really looks nice when done well.

Thanks,

Garrett

Hi Garrett and welcome to the forum. I agree, color case hardening makes a beautiful finish but would be out out of place on a Luger, however so are the Nickel and Chrome finishes, so why not color case hardening on a shooter Luger? I would like to see one.

Default case color..

I've thought of case hardening luger frames, not for the look, but for the surface hardening ... it has worked well for all applications when done correctly... I think a great addition to any firearm... when done right... best to all, til..lat'r...GT

Thanks, and I should have qualified my question further.

This obviously wouldn't be for an original/collectible Luger.
Rather, a custom piece that's meant to be admired as well as shot.

I built a custom Mauser 98 in 400 Whelen (Improved) that I had color case hardened, and it looks great.
I did a Google search for examples of Lugers like this, but with zero results.

I don't have a picture hosting service, but glad to send some to anyone who could post it here.

Thanks!
