markings
Gentlemen
I recently purchased a Luger, a 1937 S/42 with what appears to be all matching serial numbers. However being very much of a neophte with these guns I have a quetion for anyone out there that has a free moment. On the bottom of the barrel under the serial number 2077 is a set of very small numbers 8,82.Is this an import date or something else? |

Re: markings
Ray,
It is a barrel gauge; these were on Mauser manufactured pistols up to 1942. They can be found from 8.81 to 8.85. Hope this helps. Steve |

Re: markings
It's the diameter of the barrel in millimeters measured from the lands in the rifling.
