x'ed out markings...
Hi to all! I just put a 1918 / 1920 Erfurt double date re-work on lay away... it has a grip strap marking, but is lined out with slanted marks? I will post more when I get it... best to all, til...lat'r....GT....
BTW, this gun has a sear safe... and, it has, I think, a correct Weimar police proof, on a, get this... a cut down artillery barrel, to 4" with the front sight base reattached on the muzzle, and, correctly renumbered and proofed to the gun... super nice job, except you can see remnants of the artillery sigh base relief cuts on the barrel top...??.. I've never seen this before??... It came in from the weeds and has not been messed with since capture... Condition, purchase price and some other features would support this... anyway, I thought I'd seen it all... but, til...lat'r....GT Last edited by G.T.; 06-10-2013 at 11:32 PM. |

Sure, many artillery's were cut down and repurposed by army and police.
The crossing out is also seen, not too uncommon, usually when a unit was renamed or moved. Sometimes it is a WW1 unit marking and when it went to the weimar army, reissued or the police, same thing.

I'd like to see a good photo of the marking before going out on a limb.
