Default Enfield brought to use

Was at a gunshow a month or so ago and a walk in with this 1934 Enfield, but it had been cut down by his grandfather, a real beauty and not import marked.

I was trying to think of what to do, and talked to my friend Hugh; he suggested a few options, then sent me about 4 different post sights.

I tapped with a punch to set a place to drill, then slowly used slightly larger drill bits. Then tapped the brass sight into place. I would like it slightly lower (if looking close), but from the rear, the sight shows up nice and clear.

I also backed the sight off a bit so that the original stamping of .38 shows up (I am sure the .38 S&W was there, but they cut it off)

Should I drop the brass post a bit?

Nah, it looks pretty cool just like it is. A perfect 1930's "hideout" gun!
