Default 1918 Luger- any info helpful!

New to the forum - just wanting to post photos of a Luger that was in my grandfather's collection and is now in mine. What kind of value could I put on this and does anyone know why it has three different date stamps (1917, 1918, 1920?)

Thanks!

The 1920 over the manufacture year on the chamber is a Weimar Republic, (post WW1 German goverment) property stamp, not a date.
The 1917 on the side of the receiver is something not usually seen on a standard 4" military Luger.

Hi Erik, Welcome to the forum! Your gun seems to have been assembled from parts from three different guns (at least). The frame is from a 1917 Navy, the receiver from a 1918 Artillery, and the barrel and toggle train from another gun. As Doug has told you, the 1920 is not a date, but a property mark. May we see more photos, the serial numbers on the front of the frame and the bottom of the barrel, the inspection marks on the right side of the receiver and also one of the back of the holster.
Regards, Norm
