Default Hello! New Luger Owner

I just purchased a refinished 1916 DWM and its all numbers matching except for the take down bolt. Is it worth $100 to get a matching take down? I know it lost pretty much all its value being refinished but would I gain any value having it matching as well? Or would it just fulfill my desire to have all the visible numbers matching?

Thank you!

Bruce..Not in my opinion, but I am cheap. The pistol has been re finished. Pretty much end of any more investment for me.
But you could sell the takedown you have on it..that would lessen the money drain if you have a matching one located. Sometimes we do things because we want to..I understand that! It's not going to add much value to a re finished gun though. It's a shooter...

Thanks Jerry,

I had a feeling it wasn't going to do much for the value. I sent a message to the seller on gun broker to see if they would do some sort of trade.

I have another question. Did they ever make a left handed holster other than the cavalry version?

Bruce..There is no original German holster ever made left handed to my knowledge..I have seen the so called Cavalry version offered as a reproduction but it's a fantasy holster not a repro as it was never made to begin with!

Bruce
I have one of the 2 mag pouch left hand repros. It is new and I would sell it for $30 plus $9 shipping. It really isn't a repro since as Jerry said nothing like this was made. Actually the holster is rather well built. Bill
