You are going to feel so much better with new knees. After the procedure it is a little rough at first. But before I had mine done I couldn't get around without a cane. Now I am virtually pain free. The real key is the physical therapy following surgery. Do your exercises religiously and it really speeds up recovery.
As Neal said, good luck!

I really don't believe that you will regret having it done once you give the healing some time. My brother is sooooo happy with his new knee, and he walks 2-3 miles every day now.

Hi Craig, Good luck with your surgery! My wife had both knees done, two years apart, and is now a poster girl for knee replacement. She bikes, skis, and hikes, totally pain free. However, rehab, as Ron has said, is key. She spent an hour a day on a stationary bicycle for six months following each surgery. She passed the time watching re-runs of "Desperate Housewives", but in your case I would suggest "Victory at Sea", or "Band of Brothers".
All the best, Norm

I completly agree with all the above posts, particularly with Ron Woods advice to do your physical therapy religiously and you will be one happy camper. I did much more home therapy then required and my therapist let me stay at his business after my session was over to use the equipment and I think it really paid off, a quick recovery, no pain and more flexibility then the average patient. Good luck my friend.

Physical therapy may seem like professional sadism, but it does get the job done.

Tough decision, but you'll find it well worth it. It's amazing what they do today.

My mom had her knee replaced 24 years ago, and then (after it wore out) had the same one done again 3 years ago.

You will be sore; and it can be difficult... Best wishes for success and a fast recovery.

Marc

Or (These are all multi-DVD sets) -

"The Prisoner" full series
"Rocky & Bullwinkle" full series
"Soap" full series
"The Closer" full series
"Batman" 1942 movie serials
"Batman and Robin" 1949 movie serials
"JAG" full series
"Dexter" series up to this year

Here's one I read in a book...Get yourself a stationary cycle that reads out in [simulated] miles traveled...Get a good roadmap...Cycle from Los Angeles to New York in increments, and mark your progress each day...(Or Buffalo To Houston...or...)

Both knees at once? That's a bit unusual...

My hip has been giving me a bit of pain lately...But my back and both shoulders give me pain all the time...

Sometimes, it's a relief to feel the pain in a different place...
