Big Reno Show
Is the Big Reno Show still on this coming weekend and is it still big and worth going to?

Hi Dave,
The Big Reno Show is the 17th,18th and 19th. I feel that it is worth going too, and I will be there on Sunday. I have always came home with a nice piece to add to my collection the last several years. Just be careful and know what you are buying. Regards, Jeffrey |

I haven't been in a few years and wondered if it is still alive and well. Thanks.

If you are a German handgun collector I would rate it on a scale of 1 to 10,a 4.
Tulsa a 7 and the February Show of Shows (with the Gun Show) in Louisville a 10. Bob |

I go to look at it all and I haven't been for a few years. Just need a bigger show "fix" than what I can get around here. Thanks for the info and help.

I am planning on going. It is a fun show. Get to see some items rarely seen in CA these days.
It will be a mini-vacation for me,which I really need! Bob

If one of you gentlemen going to the Big Show would be so kind as to pick up a Borchardt for me, I'd be eternally grateful...(I'm good for it)...

Just wanted to Thank Doug and all the rest of the nice gents on this forum, who took the time to talk to me at the Big Reno Show this past weekend.
I had a great time and got to examine some really nice guns. Postino I did see 3 very nice Borchardt pistols for sale! Got to handle a pristine example. Second time in 20 years! I would have gotten one for you but I want carrying enough pocket change. Highlights for me (besides the Borchardt) included a table with 3 conehammer C96's with the 6 round magazine, in mint condition! Also got to examine a Colt model 1911 with a 3 digit serial number. Sad to say, I didn't bring home any lugers this time. This is due to my champagne taste and bad beer budget! Bob

This was my first "Big Reno Show" and I really enjoyed it. Saw quite a bit of rare stuff from vendors I only see on-line--didn't buy any guns but managed to score a couple of good deals on some magazines for a Winchester project I'm working on.
Highlight of the trip was running into a couple of nostalgia drag racing buddies of mine at the show on Friday. . . as it turns out, they were on their way out (they don't consider themselves "gun guys") after they dropped off "Grandpa's pistol" to the folks at the Rock Island booth for inclusion in an upcoming auction. I asked them what Grandpa's pistol was, and they said it was an old Luger he'd had for as long as anybody could remember. . . as they handed me the pictures they said it was "something called a cartridge-counter (!)" . . . which from the photos I saw, appeared to be a real decent one. I'll be curious to see how it does at the auction. |
