Luger drum magazine
I visited a gun show last weekend and was puzzled by the number of drum magazines for sale primarily by two dealers. Were these designed for a particular issue of Luger? Are there different variations? thank you

A large batch has been produced in Europe a few years ago. I guess they start to make their way into the USA by now.
A quick ID method is to add up the individual numbers of the serial number: If they add up to 17, it's more than likely to be a reproduction. Another giveaway is the splattered pattern of rust spots on most of them. Artificially created to age them. Other than that, they are good reproductions (if bought at a repro price, at least). |

Do they work well, and what are they selling for (once they are determined to be repops)?

I think you are correct. They did have rust splatters. Vendor said they had been checked and were functional. "They were found in a woman's basement in Germany" Ask was $950. I did not bite. There were 8-10 on one table, six on another. Thanks for the input.

I would not pay a cent over $300 for these repro drums.

Simple: To have a means that identifies them as reproductions

The serial numbers font on the drum face are wide with flat bottoms too. Real ones have sharp pointed bottoms.
