Default Rock Island 1911 .45.

Took the wife to the range today we fired the Luger and we rented a RI .45 to try out. First the Luger and after 3 rounds one of the shells went down her top and tried to make its home in her bra, needless to say that did not go over well at all. She damn near threw it at me screaming and trying to get the shell out. Once she got it out she looked at me and said "I do NOT like that gun. Can I try the .45?" So I gave her the .45 with 4 round to try as its the biggest gun she's ever held and she said how heavy it was. She took aim and fired and hit all 4 in the size of a softball and she turned to me with a smile and said "I like this one!"

She tried the Luger a few more times but kept going for the .45 when I'd load up magazines for her. So it looks like we're getting a RIA 1911 .45 in 2 weeks when my bonus check comes in.

On the way home she said next time we go out shooting to remind her to wear a tighter shirt or t-shirt so the Lugers shells don't go down her top. I'm just glad she said next time!

But... for the left handed shooter, upward eject is a valued feature. Otherwise, ejection is across your face to the right...

I do recommend keeping shirt openings buttoned on the range. That brass starts out quite hot...
