Help getting the details correct on my Luger
Hello all,
I recently took a luger as patial trade and I am having trouble getting the details correct. Here is what i have found and the info on the gun. I have zero experence with lugers. DWM stamped on the slide 1911 on the upper reciver 3303 on the lower below the barrel 03 on all small parts barrel has 8,82 right above the proof alignment marks and the marks line up perfect. On the front of the frame where your finger ride is the following: B.1.AF.3.2. I am also having trouble identifying the stamps and will post pics shortly. |

It sounds like an imperial era military unit marked to the Bavarian 1st fuss artilery, 3rd battery, weapon 2. Good detailed pics are a must. John

welcome to the forum
DWM manufacturer year made 1911 8,82 is the land to land measurement (meaning it passed inspection)

Gun looks refinished, knocking it down to about shooter quality. Otherwise a nice early luger. Postino, fixed spelling error, sorry.
Fuss (foot) artillery were the heavy guns, big and bad.......... |

I agree with JTD. It appears that your pistol has been refinished - the trigger, mag release, ejector, safety and takedown lever should be straw colored. It's a shame that someone did this, because in it's original condition it would have been collectible - even in mediocre condition, assuming all the parts match and because of the unit mark - B.1.A.F.3.2 (I think this indicates 1st Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment, Battery 3, Weapon No. 2).

so, in this condition, as it is, I would try to buy it for $500 and sell for around $700 to $800
Everything depends on what it is and if I have the money on me |

Yep, the gun was refinished. In this process the lanyard ring at the rear of the frame was also removed. But it would works as a nice shooter.

Terry, your pistol's serial number is probably 3303e. I have 3268e and 3690e both marked to the Bavarian Artillery zu Fuss 1.
