refinishing luger grips
i'm thinking about cleaning up an old dirty pair of grips. i've read the info on the website but was wondering what type of final finish should be applied after you put on the linseed oil? or should you just leave them at that? how were they originally finished?
or should i just send them to hugh? tom |

Re: refinishing luger grips
Tom,
If you want a pair that look like new, send them to Hugh and they will come back "as new", and you will be very pleased. If you are only cleaning them and no refreshing of the checkering, just clean, let them dry completly and I use a little brush to put a light coat of boiled linseen oil on them. After the first coat drys, I reapply again and let that coat dry. Usually, 2 coats work OK. Marvin |
