Hold Open Latch & Spring
I have a question on a Luger hold open latch. My attempts to get the spring into the hold open latch have not been pretty.
I'd appreciate any ideas from anyone who has successfully done it. Thanks.....Mike |

This was discussed a month or so ago on Jan C Still's Luger forum. The way these are made the spring coil and the end is slightly undersized so that when it is in place it is tight inside the bar. The way I put them in is to lay the bar flat on a bench,on its side and then place the spring on top of it aligning it as best you can, then GENTLY tap the spring down and into the groove in the bar. The coil of the spring has to flex a little to open up to conform to the inside of the bar. Sometimes the spring will go into one side better than the other so check both sides and see if you can determine that.
