second wave-Phx
I am new to Lugers, not to guns.
Most places(shops/shows/collections), you might see 100-500 guns. At Ralph's.......... I can only state: I sat down on his couch(middle of room), and looked around. All I saw were guns: in display cases/on the coffee table/under the display cases(three rows-stacked side to side!!!!). Arty's, navy, 4", baby's,22 cal(I hope someone took a picture of this one!), 45 cal, carbines. I got to hold a borch. pistol!!! I have never been so owerwhemled(guns) in my life. AND THEY WERE ALL LUGERS!!! One in each hand! I can't say enough about the people. I'm new, by felt very welcome. Ralph is a great host. John D/Hugh/others made me feel right at home. Thank you, to you all. I quess the test was; my wife was complaining:"Do we have to go to another "gun thing". She left with a smile and said she had a great time! There's hope in her yet! Luger heaven/great people/wonderful host/super dinner...... What more can you say.. Thank you capkid |

Re: second wave-Phx
How many of you walked away with a purchase? A luger or two? Something to remember the trip by? I envy all of you that had the opportunity to make the trip to Mr. Shattuck's W.O.L. and wish I could have, but was not the true essence of the trip, acquisition? Somebody had to go home with a new toy & smiling?

Re: second wave-Phx
I think everyone has their own personal expectations when it comes to meeting a large group of people who share common interests. Actually seeing the largest collection of Lugers in the world is more than enough for most..meeting some outstanding individuals and their families is also more than ample reason. The added bonus of actually being able to sit down, take your time, discuss a Luger with some knowledgeable people is something you don't get the opportunity to do everyday. The 'true essence' of the trip was different for many of us. I know what the important things in life are and money can't buy them.
