Firing Luger for first time
I'll be shooting my Luger for the first time and was wanting to know if I need to lube it. I'll be using Ultima-Lube ll Universal from Wilson Combat. This weapon has been missing since 1971 and was just found March 21 2011. Luger is in mint condition.

Now, how was this gun missing? I moved this to the new collector area
Really, all it needs is a bit of oil, I'd basic take it down (I never completely strip it down, just a field strip) and oil it lightly with CLP or the like. Ed

Jarhead:
Would love to see photos of the gun. Tell us how your shooting went as well! Clark

Welcome to the forum!
A Luger in mint condition, if all matching and correct, really should not be fired. Breaking any numbered part would decrease its value considerably. |

This gentleman is referring to one of the 1970's Mauser manufactured Interarms Imported .30 Lugers which is apparently his first. He started a thread about it in the Artillery Luger portion of the Forum because it had a 6" bbl. ("6 .30 cal Luger Parabellum" ). That thread was, in part, moved over here when he asked whether he should lubricate it before shooting.
