Smile Unmarked DWM for information

I am considering a purchase on this Luger. No date. replaced grips,
number 7606 with 06 on toggle. Very good bore. 80% Blueing?
Some strawing. Asking price is 695.00.. Is it worth it?? Does the gun need to
be taken down to check internal numbers??

Any information appreciated. I do not want to purchase a lemon.

I understand .30 ammo is hard to find. I want to shoot it, and .30 is the cal.

Hi,

This looks like a DWM alphabet commercial that has had VoPo grips added. They are not matching to the pistol. The magazine is not period correct either.

You should check for matching numbers internally, although fewer are marked on a commercial Luger. The reference information on LugerForum will help you determine which parts should be marked.

About a year ago, I gave $650 for an all matching DWM Alphabet Commercial with matching original magazine. My guess is that this is worth somewhat less.

$500 would probably be a good price.

I just gave away a mag like that...It may be an early Mec-Gar...The brown VOPO grips are new to me; I've only seen black...Interesting...

I reload 7.65mm Luger/.30 cal Luger, but I think MidWay had 7.65/.30 Luger ammunition...

Ah, yes!

$695 is the Last Man Out price. Try to beat them up a bit.

I like the .30 Luger caliber, but if you're set on a lot of shooting and don't reload, then save your money and get a 9mm...Wal-Mart sells 9mm 'white box' pretty much everywhere...and it functions very well in Lugers...

Hi,

The VoPo grips usually vary in color between a mid-brown and dark-brown. So these are pretty standard VoPo grips. Nice about them is that they are hollow inside.
