Hi, I see a Western-German commercial Crown/N proof, a 1977 proof date and the proof mark of the proof house in Kiel (West-Germany at the time).
Not much VoPo about it |

It's a blurry pic, but to me the top figure looks like an Eagle/N; middle a sunburst; and the bottom looks like "H H"...

The middle mark is the proof house ID of the proof house in Kiel.
It looks like a squashed bug HH is the year code for 1977 (H = 7). They use a simple letter code whereby a digit is replaced by a letter. (i see that I called the proof a crown/N, of couse that had to be an eagle/N ....hum...) |

When I first saw the auction, it occurred to me that perhaps it was a built-up parts gun...maybe with an East German barrel (or slide; it looks like these marks are on the slide)...
In any case, it's a single-stacker...I'll look for a double stacker...P226...There's a couple police turn-ins for under $400...

Only when sober
I know these as the SIG 225, we have one at our club. Nice guns with limited mag capacity (which is not a problem as we have a 5-round limit for practice and a 6-round limit for military pistol shooting). |
