hmmm, I have a heck fo a time with hold opens and no problem with trigger springs.... I just use my right finger and push the spring in and then it pops in. Of course, all you have to do is get a corner started and then the rest slides right in....

It is surprising. Some I can snap right in there, other I have a fight on my hands...
