Question 1915 DWM Magazine

I had this gun professionally restored. It was pointed out recently that the magazine which has a metal bottom and stamped with the #2 over the serial number of the gun which is also stamped on the bottom of the magazine is not the true magazine since it should have a wood bottom.

I can't find in the few books I have anything about the 1915. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the Luger's serial number? I have extra Imperial mags in case you are in the market for one for the 1915 DWM.

is not the true magazine since it should have a wood bottom.

You.. nor I.. will know this to be true unless you answer some questions about your Luger.

Right side of gun has the 4 Imperial proof marks. This tells us nothing we didn't already know.

If the mag you have is serialed to the pistol it is likely a Police. IF it prooves to be a Police..as Ed Tinker has already told you..the aluminum bottom could be correct for your pistol.

Do a search on this or the other Forum and find a photo of a Police sear safety. Compare it to your pistol. This will answer your question.

God helps those who help themselves.

Alec, although Aaron's book is fine, it has errors in it and is not as up to date as Central Powers by Jan C. Still.
