Default Looking for opinions.....

After reading all of the profiles, I have to say that I am truly impressed by the range and depth of the knowledge in this forum. I'm fairly new here (except my first bumbling post) I'd welcome any and all opinions on my first Luger. I've gotten a few private e-mails that opened my eyes to quite a lot, follow the link below to see it and thank you for your input.

Default At first glance it looks original...

but my concerns are the strawing looks awfully dark for an 84 year old DWM, and the Gesichert doesn't appear to have any paint in it, but this could just be the photo. The collectors will, I'm sure be able to add their thoughts.

Looks just like the one I have and sure looks real to me. It is rust blue for sure.

Default Yep. she be real....

The straw is pretty light to me but the mag release button looks blued on the left and strawed on the right. I tried the "Popscicle" test and it just tasted like metal to me,, no copper but I got a good laugh and a suggestive remark from the wife....{)

The blueing looks pretty aged but I don't suspect a forgery, I didn't pay that much. I found several marks on the inside that I'll post photos of. I've looked through a lot of posts here and found no referance to interior marks.

I'm looking to sell this as I've been told by a few here that it's a collector and not a shooter. I just want to make sure that I'm not giving the impression of passing off a rework as original or selling a really rare piece for a low price. Even if it is a one-in-a-million I'd still sell it pretty low. I think it would be better appreciated in a true collectors hands rather than mine. I'll get back here later with those pics...... Thanks again everybody...

Since you posted your additional pictures, it would appear that the inside of the pistol is "in the white" which is a pretty good indication that it HAS NOT been reblued.
