Unit Markings on DWM?
I just picked up a 1916 DWM at a gunshow this month.
It has unit markings on the grip. 52.R.4.19 Any Idea what unit this is? Any help would be great. |

According to "Histories of the 251 Divisions"
Infanterie-Regiment 52 was part of the 5th Division which was part of the 1st Army in 1914. This Divison fought in many famous battles including being sent to Russia in July 1917. Your Luger has alot of great history with it. Jim

Photo's of 1916 DWM Unit Markings
You will notice there is some serious pitting on the linkage.
The rest of the pistol is not to bad. It is the only 1916 I have so I will take what I can get. |
