New Guy Here
I am new here, having found this forum while trying to do some research on a luger that a friend owns and has offered to sell it to me. I offered him $700 which he thought was a fair price, and I suggested that I take some pictures and post them for the experts here to attempt to find a fair value for the both of us as well as to find out what information we can about it.
He purchased it a great many years ago and does not have any knowledge of the history of this gun. Along with the gun he does have an opened box of cartridges with several 1943 markings on it as well as a 08/40 and a 1941. The cartridges are stamped 43 on the case. I did not take pictures of the cartridge box. Any information about this weapon and a fair value for it would be greatly appreciated. I have eight pictures which I will attempt to post altho I will probably fail to do so on my first attempt or two or three. |

pic 8 - as you can all visible numbers match except for the magazine. It appears to be in good shape with the left grip having a small piece broken off.
Comments welcome. |

Larry,
Welcome to the Forum, and thank you for the pictures of your prospective purchase. A very interesting gun, apparently a 1916 military DWM which was taken into police service in the Schutzpolizei Berlin. Can you provide closeup pictures of the markings on the barrel and a better picture of the grip strap marking? --Dwight |

Nice police luger, worth at least $800-$1000, but all depends on if matching completly, if not, then closer to $600
