Default Need Help on a 1906 AE purchase

I am looking at a 1906 AE on Gunbroker #98465042. it's buy it now price looks good ( I think). The seller says its matching except for the side plate( unmarked) . My research in Lugers At Random" shows that the side plate for this 1906 unmarked is correct. Any opinions on this Luger?
Thanks much, Bill

Hi Bill

I have 2 1906 AE's and both have the the last 2 digits stamped on the bottom of the sideplate, I checked Kenyon and he indicates that they should be so marked, I did not find where it said differently? Regardless and even though apparently an old reblue (shallow DWM logo, and no halo's), its still a pretty good price in my opinion.

Hey Bill,

Did you get the 1900 that you were thinking about?

Regarding the 1906 AE that you are looking at on GB - it seems to be a good price for a shooter. They don't appear to go much lower for this model. Good luck!

AHH, the bottom of the sideplate, forgot that. I should get more books. I guess at 102 years old and showing use, a reblue just might be expected.
I have yet to get the 1900 I mentioned. I am having that old debate with myself, a shooter at one price or $500 more for a matching Luger at a lesser condition. Same problem with this 1906, most likely could not find another 1906 AE or 1900 completely matching in a lesser condition for $1,600, so this 1906 for about $1,100 looks quite fair.

It's sold. Interesting enough, the winner had sold a cool SIG 556 for $1000, and bought this Luger for $1150. Must be a Luger lover.
