Pretty neat stuff Tom...


I hadn't noticed this earlier, but it's been brought to my attention that the stein on the right is marked to:

Bavarian 5th Ausbildungs Eskadron of the 17th Reiter Regiment. Dated 1929

The "training squadron" for the 17th. This squadron was made up of the old Imperial 1st Ulanen Regiment, most likely the non-coms. Training squadrons were chosen for their outstanding performance and history, the best of the best.

I assume that this stein may have belonged to one of these gentlemen.
