Default Simson Luger

Guys

I may have an opportunity for a Simson Luger. I am hoping to look at it this weekend. Anything in particular to look for? What is the going rate for an all matching one?

Thanks

Alamar

hello Alamar;

well, you could buy my book on them

here is the skinny;

a. check that the frame and all parts are eagle 6 marked (sometimes eagle 33)
b. check that the frame "stock lug" is eagle 6 (E6) or e33 stamped, there should be two of them
c. that the suffix is either 'a" or no suffix; anything else and it is a rework with a Simson replacement toggle
d. check that the proofs and acceptance on the right have eagle 6's in them (all depends on what time period they are proofed / accepted)

Biggest thing to remember (besides sending me the info once you look at it); is; is it a Simson, or a simson rework?

Going rate; at least 2k, for even a reblue. Add $500 for a matching magazine. I think a nice matching Simson is not going to be found for less than $2500, and I beleive their value is going to go up; there were only 12,000 of them made.

Presently there are two that I know of available (retail)

First 1 is at Simpson's and is a reblue, the 2nd one is at G&G (Hoffman's) and he wants a pretty penny for it.
