Default First Luger

I recently inherited a Luger that was taken by my late uncle at the Battle of the Bulge. The top markings include "1915" and "DMW". How can I determine if it is chambered for 9mm or 7.65?

Hi CJ, First welcome to the Luger Forum!! If your Luger has a chamber date of 1915, the chances are pretty good your pistol is a 9mm Luger (Parabellum).

If you can find a 7.65 (.30) Luger round, try to insert it into the business end of the barrel. If it goes all the way in, your Luger is a 9mm, if it doesn't, then you have a 7.65 (.30 Luger).

Let us know what you find out!

CJ Take a regular lead pencil with an eraser. Insert eraser end into barrel, if it goes in easily a 9mm if not a 30. Bill
