I would like to replace a couple of grip screws on an imperial gun: 1910-1912 time frame.
1) Is there really a difference in the curvature between imperial and post WWI screws? 2) Where imperial screws rust blued or heat treated? 3) Is there a source for new manufactured grip screws? I was trying to follow Costanzoâ??s pictures on page 278 but have seen such a mix on guns; I donâ??t know what to believe. Yes, I have read the previous posts, and have Johnâ??s disk.â??thanks, John by the way. Thanks Vern |

Vern, By Imperial Luger, I persume you are referring to an Erfurt with Imperial acceptance (crown over a letter) on the small parts, including the grip screws until about 1916. Sorry but I'm sold out of those. I do have a few nice WW1 DWM grip screws, with a slight higher "dome" @$15 each, than the later Simson (proofed) or Mauser grip screws. My new repros are of the Mauser "flatter" type @$4 each or 2 for $6 or 10 for $20. TH
