I've measured the muzzle and I am sure it is a 9 mm and the visible part of the barrel is 10 mm. That's why I thouth it was a navy.
So, I'm expecting your final veridict!!

It was my girl friend, Fernanda, who took the pictures!! The camera is a Sony Carl Zeiss, Vario-Tessar, 7,2 Mega pixels. She's telling me that she can sell it...

I am running out of things to tell you about your gun; your barrel length is 120mm, there is about 20mm hidden, your gun has some number 8 worker marks that you find on some early Manuel II Army guns. Several examples of the Army gun have been found with the crest removed thought to have been done in 1910 when the Republic of Portugal was formed.

Your barrel caliber is a mystery in your configuration, some 9mm Army guns have been reported with 4 inch barrels but yours is longer than this.

We could try and determine if your barrel has been replaced by looking at the alignment mark on the bottom of the upper receiver, this is controversial as a good gun smith might make a perfect fit. It would give us a chance to see if the serial number has in fact been removed or if a replacement barrel attached. You would have to take another picture.

By the way I have the same camera, very nice close up feature.

Your barrel alignment marks are so close I would not want to say one way or the other that your barrel has been replaced or not. (especially using a picture). I made a small side by side comparison to show you why this can be so controversial a method of determination.

I did see something of interest in the one picture, when enhanced it seems to show the number 5 and maybe the number 7 to the left, could this be a 75?

Please look very closely using a powerful glass and let us know if there is something there or just a reflection. That camera you have has the ability to do this for you.

I know I have asked you before but, if that is a number at the very base of your barrel I need you to have the caliber verified, itâ??s important.

Pepe A good way to tell between 9mm and 30 is with a regular lead pencil with an eraser. If the eraser end fits in the barrel it's a 9mm if not its a 30 cal. Bill

You might want to take Bill Wlyonâ??s advice, from your picture it looks like your bore is less than 8 mm and that would make it a 7.65 caliber.

I am going to default back to the other collectors on the cartridge stampings, way out of my knowledge area; the only one I might know is the DWM K and this is a guess.
