its a work in progress... but I'd love to hear some feedback!

Many new projects in the works.. So will be updating more soon..

Reggie,

Along with other genres I enjoy Country music and I think your site looks and sounds great. Are you the composer, singer on the site tracks???

Nice, how intensive is it for non-broadband users?

Nice voice, very pleasant. I like country, I also see you have "words", and words in the music is very important

Thanks so much for the kind feedback guys!

I wrote the Music/Lyrics for all the songs on my site. I am published with a company on Music Row, so these recordings are used to "pitch" to record labels & artist. I am in the beginning stages of recording a full length solo project entitled "The Present, The Future, And everything in between." Hopefully will be released in early 2007.

Sorry if the site is a bit graphic intensive... it is done in Flash. (and the guy's picture on the site is not me :-) its part of a template and I haven't quite figured out how to get rid of it yet)

Regards!
Reggie

Reggie, I am a great fan of most good music, especially Country. I am fond of it's relationship to common emotions felt by most of us.
My Sister is one of the owners of a large record store chain here in Colorado and provides me with bushel baskets of CD's to screen. Mostly new artists or new releases by popular artists. I have found some amazing talent that is little known outside of the mainstream.
A year ago, my Wife Ellie and I helped to produce a CD by a local Folk/Country Singer. A really amazing singer/song writer and guitar musician.(Mick Gill) His is some of the best I have heard in some time, good story line, interesting and well sung.
What I have found is, there is so much music being produced today by good artists that are able to produce in small studios and publish on Web sites that it is hard to get recognized without certain steps being taken which involve time consuming hard work. Hard to be a part timer and get famous.
A couple of my favorites are Rodney Crowell. One of the best song writers on the Planet today. If you want his best get" The Houston Kid. " " Life is Messy " is good too.
Roy Rodgers and the Delta Rhythm Kings...Junior Brown, The Cherry Bombs..Diamond Rio..Seal IV the only great album he made..Joe Diffie. I could go on and on. Celine Dion is one of my all time favorites. Talk about a voice and emotion. Many Artists make several CD's that are no good but then come out with a bombshell.
Most of the artists I enjoy write from what seems to be past experience. An interesting story that is not repetative. I think like most Artistic crafts one gets better at it as one matures. Seal was certainly that way. I hated all three of his first albums untill Seal IV.
Well, enough of this! Keep at it and good luck! Jerry Burney

Thanks for the post Jerry!

Yes the industry has changed dramatically over the past 20 years... Fortunately.. my first job out of college was working for a label as an A&R rep, so I learned all the ins/outs of what makes the industry tic... its amazing that.. with the studio I have in my house. 20 years ago it would have taken Millions of dollars to make recordings like I can make... And with digital distribution & internet marketing.. indi artist can make a somewhat decent living for themselves.. with all that said.. the commercial market & pay-olla is still VERY much alive in many different forms.. And unfortunately no matter how much Internet savy, and exposure an artist may have.. there is no way to compete with a Major Record Label... they have made it very clear that there existence is justified... and beleive it our not.. I have seen the toll illegal downloading has taken on the record business.. I.E. I lost my job because of it.. even though I filled the labels roster with the most sucessfull rock bands to date.. All that said. it let me focus on writing & I'm so much happier doing my true passion than ever before... Always up for talking music biz.. so PM me any time
