Fun with eBay - 2 identical repro stocks
I was looking on eBay for repro Arty stocks - I can't affort an authentic one at the moment.
It appears there is eBay BS even in the repro market. There are two stocks for sale by different people but the photos used in each auction are identical. These are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ARTILLERY-LUGER-...QQcmdZViewItem and http://cgi.ebay.com/P08-P-08-WWII-Ge...QQcmdZViewItem The story behind each indicates they are unique stocks the seller happened upon. The photos are bit-for-bit identical. I sent a note to each asking for an explanation. Meanwhile I think I'll bypass eBay entirely for this. Anyone have comments on the CMR International repros? -- Dan |

Dan, I have never seen a CMR stock..Last time I asked, a month ago, they were out of ANY Artillery stuff.
Your eBay links do not work for me. Found em! Dan, you might want to Email Bill and Susie Dorflinger. He has this Navy on auction right now but I know he has Artilleries too...I will vouch for him 100% http://cgi.ebay.com/Navy-Luger-Stock...QQcmdZViewItem Jerry Burney

I like having the repro stocks available. I recently got one for my C96, as I could not afford a real one(sound familiar). It was a reasonble 60 dollars and I rec'd it rather quickly. Let me tell you how much fun it was to shoot . The only problem I had was getting smacked in the thumb by the hammer. Ouch! Can't hold it quite the same as a pistol. My only concern with repros, is that people will try to pass them off a real. Weather and age one up and try to pass it off on some unsuspecting novice. I've been very fortunate to have come across this site and its members .

Thanks for the info. I talkes to Bill & Susie, and they expect to have artillery stocks later this summer.
Not sure why the eBay links aren't working. I couldn't get Jerry's to work either, but found the link anyway. And yep, I need a C96 stock also. Wasn't sure if those $60 stocks off eBay were any good. Even with a real C96 stock I think I would shoot with a repro - I understand those are prone to cracking. -- Dan |

I put about 100 rounds through my 96 using the stock and so far so good. I'd sure rather crack this than a $1500 original. I was also amazed at how quickly it arrived, I'd say about 3-4 days after receiving payment.
