Default KM Marked Radom

I thought some of you guys might like this one. It is listed by serial number on page 183 of Axis Pistols and was owned by Tom Knox at one time.

Mark, Pretty sweet! Did you manage to buy it? A real score for the Navy collector! Must be a story here...Jerry Burney

Jerry,

The gun is mine..... It just goes to show that if you ask someone enough they eventually will sell the item to you, when they decide to sell.

Mark, How right you are! What a stunning pistol, should I start asking right now? Congratulations! Jerry

Congratulations Mark on your beautiful KM. Does it have a blued barrel and/or blued guide rod? Mine is only a few number off from the 6875 N listed in Still's book and with a brown W623 marked holster and is in my opinion 95%+. I thought that a brown holster was incorrect but read somewhere that brown holsters were worn by KM officers. I have seen a number of questionable KM Radoms and it is reported that fakes exist.

Andrew,

The gun does not have a blued barrel. I have discussed this with some very advanced collectors and they are of the opinion that the KM marked guns in the A prefix range may not have blued barrels as 100% correct. I saw a second "A" prefix KM marked gun at NGD without the blued barrel and that gun was also 100% correct.

A closeup look at the KM marking shows that this marking is genuine. Here is a comparison of a fake KM marking on a Radom and two real KM markings, one on a Mauser 1934 and one from the KM marked Radom pictured above.
