Strange happening
Today at 0554 hrs Pete posted a reply to a thread I had also posted to. I got an email at 1054 hrs today telling me that there was a new post to that thread, exactly 5 hours later. Not exactly timely, there must be a glitch in the system somewhere. Not complaining, just pointing out a strange happening.

Pete, you may have a good point there, I didn't think of that. This time you posted at 0701hrs and I got it here in Utah 1201, still 5 hrs apart. CA is one hour behind us here and JD and the server is in the east so it's 2 hrs difference there, later, but I can't figure out that 5 hr thing, 5 hours to the minute. The first post of mine shows as 0621hrs but It was more like a real time of maybe 0921 when I posted it. Lets see what happens this time, it's 1304hrs right now here in Utah.
Post revised, the above posting time shows 0757hrs, something ain't right.

Ed, you didn't state what time it was in Colorado at the time you posted it. I assume it was about 8:15 or so.. On my screen your post shows up as 03:51PM, which is not a 24hr time. Again the 5 hr difference.

GMT -7, US mountain time. I changed it to -2 Mid Atlantic but it changed itself back to -7

Bottom left of my page has date and time ALMOST correct: about 7 minutes slow.
I'm in NJ (GMT-5) and my zone preference is set to GMT. The timestamp I see on Ed's 8:51 PM post is 02-11-2006 10:51 PM. Perhaps JD had to do a restore on the server, and Herb's previous -7 setting (when the save was performed) was used to overwrite his new -2 setting. Added note: the timestamp on this post is also 7 minutes slow...

Time Setting
Hi All,
John D. has a post in the help forum about the time settings: LINK Basically it say to lie about the time zone, Eastern=GMT currently on the server. Herb, I can only guess that the "submit" button at the bottom of the page didn't update properly when you made your change? Try again perhaps? This fixed my clock readings - except for the 7 minutes of course Regards, Fritz. |

The time is now 12:42, lets see what the post time says.
Ah ha, I reset it to the Mid-Atlantic -2 GMT and it now comes out ok. Wierd.
