Default .30 Dwm

I called a friend today and he asked me about this gun. Not many details unfortunately (he's over 80).

He says the serial # is 89269. There doesn't seem to be a date on the gun. Crown over N proofs. Mag has black plastic bottom.

It's a very poor description, I know, but does anyone have an idea of what this is? What other info do you need?

I know photos are almost a must, but the gun isn't his and he won't be retaining it. He has no computer either.

Rod,

Simply, the gun is a 20DWM Commercial, the information provided is adequate for that determination.

It would be useful to know other information, as this gun is in part of the serial number range with guns of several detail characteristics.

Can it be confirmed that there is no chamber date?

Is the c/N proof upright?

Is there a sear safety?

Are there any marks on the right receiver?

Is the caliber 7.65mm or 9mm?

Is there GERMANY or MADE IN GERMANY stamped anywhere on the gun?

The black plastic base magazine is not usual for this model, is it folded & crimped steel or extruded? if extruded, are there any marks on the magazine body?

Hi, Dwight, thanks for the help.

The Caliber is 7.65. No chamber date. c/N is upright on barrel, sideways elsewhere. Can't be sure about the sear safety. No "Germany" stamps. No marks on the mag body, but the mag design is not known.

It was guessed to be "a vet bringback," but that is a guess only. Grips show evident wear.

I apologize for not being able to offer a better description, but I have never seen this pistol and the owner doesn't know enough to give more detailed info over the phone.

With this meager info, can anyone offer a ballpark value?
