Default Yet Another Movie Luger 3

"King of the Rocket Men" (Republic serial, 1949)

The prototype movie of all the Rocket Man and jet backpack movies.

In the first episode the Rocket Man, for the first time, dons his Rocket Suit, and for good measure sticks his P-08 ray gun in his belt.

In no time at all he is chasing down a missile which is about to slam into Los Angeles, and needs to pull out his ray gun to shoot it down.

As a prop it is a sparkler, without operating the Luger action.

Great pictures Dwight!
looks like a very rare Luger.. probably made in the same factory as Han Solo's broom, also with laser features

Default Hollywoodland

The new movie, "Hollywoodland", features a couple of scenes with a WWII era luger (i.e. no straw parts) in chronicling the suicide death (or murder) of film star George Reeves; whom is best known as the TV Superman of the 1950's. Mr. Reeves supposedly killed himself with a luger pistol.

A couple of scenes in the movie where the gun is fired.

Cool post Dwight.. guess I'll add the famous story of Sgt. York. The Movie made in 1941 shows him shooting Germans with a Luger. etc. etc. A 1911 was the actual gun used in his ww1 action, but they couldn't get a 1911 to not jam on Blank ammo..

Steven,

That luger shown in the movie poster must be an extremely rare one...being for left-handed shooters...

Good eye! I missed that, they must have reversed the image.
