KC Gun Show Reports...?
Any Forum folks attend the KC gun show last week ?
Wondering how many lugers were spotted ? Any interesting luger buys ? Did anyone get to see the .45 luger carbine ? I understand Ralph Shattuck had the luger at the show... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |

Lot of nice items at the KC show. Lot of high prices but some bargains, too. Some fantastic displays of very fine, rare items. Always a great show to go to, IMHO.

KC show has a nice new facility at KCI (across hwy from the airport) but I was freezing to death at my tables, just under the first air conditioner vents. I did see Ralph beautiful 45 carbine, some of Mike Krause's pistols, many lugers offered by Bob Simpson, Doug Smith and others. I didn't see any "orphan" lugers (only one on a dealer's table). My best buys were on Luger parts and a few non-luger magazines. Tom H.

Yes I was at Kansas City on the 27th! It was a great show! I got to hold the famed .45 Carbine! and got to spend about 4 - 4 1/2 hours with Ralph!
Also saw Charlie Kenyon! Got him to sign my book (Luger The Multi-Natonal Pistol) got some pictures with him! What is really interesting about Me and Charlie is that we started off exactly the same! Our Uncle's had Lugers, We Got our first at 14......The only difference is that Charlie is the author of some GOOD Luger books!!! Maybe I should follow in his footsteps.... Go for it, Brandon!!! You sure have the enthusiasm and the open mind to succeed at whatever you do!!! |
