Dear collectors
I have recently bought a P-Kasten for the drum magazines and loading tool + ammo. The innerparts of the box is missing, and I would like to restore it. If I can restore it I will use it for display of my Bing magazine and loading tool + ammo boxes. I would very much appriciate if there is a collector with a complete box with innerparts that can help me with the dimensions of the inner wood parts. |

Yes, on this forum, but for sure on the jan still forum, there are many threads on this.
Jerry Burney ( @lugerholsterrepair) had one made. Attached file is for information and from this site.

Not only did Jerry Burney have one made, but he was also the one behind the project to create a period perfect reproduction in 2012. Here is the link to the narrative of this endeavor:
https://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=27502 Jerry made more than one, I think 5 or 6 as I remember. I was lucky enough to acquire one of them while they were available. It truly is a labor of love and a work of art. Ron

Thanks for my PDF ,
If you have alls the nail holes visible, it will be easy to replace the missing elements.

OP, thanks for sharing the photo and story. I rarely see those. I think I saw one at Show of Show years ago.

Dear Collectors
Thank you all for the reply’s. And sorry for my late reply - it is summer holiday here right now. First I am in the process to find time period wood for the restauration. For the restorations, I first of all need the dimensions of the wooden inner parts that fixes the magazines. It a piece of wood that can be lifted op to be able to take out the drum magazines. Luckily I can see some holes for the previous original wood parts. I it quite interesting to discover that one of the screws holding the inner part of the part for the loading tool has been hidden under the right handle. This restauration is going to take some time – I don’t want to set a deadline for it. |
