Default Trigger and Sights on S/42

My first P08....a shooter not collector.

I take it there's nothing to be done to reduce trigger pull from 7 lbs to around 5 or sharpen the break besides a good cleaning. If there is I'd love to give my smith some hints.

As for sights. I put a dab of white-out on the front and that's a no-harm improvement. As for rear sights....a wider U/V would be nice and a bit of judicious filing might do that. Aside from altering collector value....a) will it help? and b) will it majorly affect the gun's value, even as a shooter? (I have no plans to sell it....one of my children will get it some day.)

I can keep 'em in the black the way it is....but I'd like to get closer to the X-ring more times than not.
