Default Checkering on Luger grips

I just ran across a nice set of repro Luger grips, they seem to be correctly made, nice wood and they fit well but the checkering is a bit coarse. It's only 16 lpi, which is less than I can recall seeing on any Luger grips.

So is this just another aftermarket boo-boo, or did any Luger grips come with such coarse checkering?

Hmm... that narrows down the uses for these grips then. I guess they'll go on one of my shooters anyway, I was just curious.
