Default Is this repairable??? Hurt Value?

Date: 1940
Manufacture: Mauser
42 code
Serial# 4134 (not sure on alpha character)

Im looking to pick this Luger up for a local gent. and was curious if this is something that can be repaired without diminishing value of the gun. It's all matching except for the mag which is period correct mag,a mec-gar mag and a holster.

What it worth in its current condition?

What could I do to reduce or repair the rust?

I have a Luger on the way from GB and Ill have pics of it as soon as it arrives. Im just wanting to start my Luger collection and didn't know if this is one not trying to tackle early on since I new with Lugers.
