Hi,
Is the front sight ramp on a 30 cal 1900 AE Luger a separate piece dovetailed into the barrel or a integral piece machined with the barrel? Aldo35 |

I would have to look.
I moved this to the new collector area instead of the technical help area. |

It is machined integral with the barrel, as are all Lugers.

Ed,
I bought the pistol, an engraved nickel plated 1900 AE sold by Capt Willard and posted 2/01 on this sight. I haven't received the pistol yet but his pictures on that thread are quite good. I would appreciate your comments. I have looked at several 30cal AE Lugers up for auction on GB and they all seem to have the high ramp as opposed to the ramp one sees on a 9mm. I plan on restoring this pistol as I have all the missing parts except the ramp. I think it will be a nice shooter. Aldo35 |

Do not replace the ramp on a 1900. It is not the same as a 9mm. The ramp (sight block) has to be higher to elevate the sight to the same height above the bore axis as a 9mm...i.e. small bore (7.65mm) tall base, large bore (9mm) short base.

Hi,
I was thinking of having a sight block made and silver soldered to barrel. Can you provide me with the dimensions? Thank you for your response. Aldo35 |
