Never bought anythng from him but did occasionally visit his site.

I thought his stuff was overpriced and most of the descriptions include the words rare or unusual.

He certainly doesn't have 599 guns listed on his site.

Guess I can delete him from my favorites.

As I read it, he "ticked" the wrong person off (deal gone wrong ???), and the DHS, BATF, or WTF took advantage of the current climate to shut him down. I know that the Feds will keep you under surveillance for yrs, if need be, and will wait for "just the right moment" to spring when you are weakest. I had a friend years ago, who was involved in a "gun deal", just one that was questionable. They tapped his phone for over a year, and waited until his father died, and served the warrant at the funeral.

I don't know Bob, but I did know Ralph, and it sounds like they were similar operators. We'll never know the truth here, sounds like he was trying to save rare collectables from having to be import stamped and controlled by an over-reaching government, as the main charge.

“Its very scary in the fact that the school is so close by makes it seem even more dangerous.”

And here lies the point of the story dear friends, The mans main charge seems to be tax evasion yet its about a gun dealer/collector not a car dealer/collector. hence the story has the wow factor to get the attention of the gun grabbers and use it as a propaganda device

Bought the 3-volume book "C96 Geschichte & Modelle" from Bob last year. I guess he's a nice man.

Does this news report imply that he failed to add "importer's stamp" on the guns that he imported from Canada?

Implication is the only thing going for this "news" article. They are a long way from convicting him... unless they can PROVE that his source for non-import marked firearms came from outside the country directly to him.

He has been in business a LONG TIME. Check out his website. His prices may be somewhat high, but I don't think they are outrageous... he is a RETAILER, not just a collector.

Sure wish I OWNED over a thousand guns! I hope he is in the clear and gets them all back.

Our system of law goes back to our constitution and articles and before it English common law. A person is not guilty until proven beyond reasonable doubt. Emotions and hearsay sometimes muddy the truth. I know nothing regarded the gentleman but ask us to reserve judgement until all the facts are in! And then only those facts that are proven beyond doubt not mearly a preponderance of admissable evidence which only applies to civil Law. If the tables were turned we would hope and pray the same! Eric~

I've done business with Bob and found him to be a stand up dealer. I hope this isn't a start of a national "witch hunt".

Another rumour involves importations with or without markings as specified.

I know Bob. He has some rare, one of a kind pistols, 3 or 4 of which I would love to have. He has others which are not in my field. I have never known him to cheat on the paper work.

Also, a friend has this auction bug and buys a lot of weapons, some of which he sends to Bob on consignment (which were part of what was taken).

If he had committed a crime, I am sure that they would have taken him at the same time they took the weapons.

Now you are going to see collector's firearms jumbled together is boxes and beaten half to death by people ignorant of their history and value.

He may never see any of these firearms back.
