Default Identify this Luger

Hello,

pretty much my first post here - I'm getting serious about purchasing my first Luger. This one is not exactly what I've been looking for but - somebody offered me this one - and I'm just looking into it. She looks pretty rough but I think it's an early model - the BUG proof marks are present, and all numbers are matching except the mag (has a serial # although there shouldn't be one). No date stamp, no stock lug, no grip safety. Overall, she looks pretty aged, and the grips have some damage marks as well. My big question - what exactly is it (I believe 1908 commercial) and what is a fair price for a luger that's all (almost) orginal but has seen some use over the years. Thanks!

Don't know for sure. It's a pre-WWI Imperial aera gun so my best guess would be 9mm. Doesn't have have a hold-open device! Thanks

Looks like a pre-1912 manufactured 1906 commercial.

I find the gun's condition more than acceptable for its age and honest use....

Agreed! But what is a fair price for the gun? The seller is asking $1,000, which, to me, is a bit on the high side. Don't even know the barrel condition...

We're only seeing bits and pieces, but IMHO $1000 is reasonable.

If the gun hasn't been messed with, it is a 1908 commercial, 9mm.
118,25 is the bore gage.

This gun comes w/o a holster. Assuming it is a 1908 Commercial how good are the chances to find a matching holster, and what is the price range?

Thanks
