Dumb question #1
Were the military Lugers of WWI also used in WWII? I would have to assume they are like 1911's, that WWI pistols were also reused in WWII. Is this a true statement for Lugers, or if I wanted a WWII Luger I NEED to be looking at Mausers & Kreighoffs only?
I'm also not seeing many waffenamt stamps on pistols. I suppose they wern't rebuilt with the frequency of K98s and other long guns, but the Waffenamts were also an acceptance stamp and not necessarily a re-build stamp, correct? When I get educated, I'll definately prefer a Luger that served in WWII, but having been in both wars would be a plus for me. Sorry, I've only been doing homework for less than a week. Robb |

Robb, read through various posts, and buy a few books Look at the 'stickies' at the top of the forum.
WW1 lugers, to include army, navy and commercial were used by army, navy, police and luftwaffe, while new bought lugers in the 1920's (to include DWM and Simson) made new lugers, then before and during WW2 Mauser and krieghoff made lugers. Read the stickies on good luger books, because there are a lot of books not worth a darn. Ed
